Brazil’s strong growth and high interest rates make it an attractive destination for foreign investors. Its economy is reckoned to be the fifth largest in the world and it is characterised by well-developed petroleum, steel, agricultural, mining, manufacturing, and service sectors. Exploiting vast natural resources, a developed industrial base and a large labour pool, Brazil is now South America's leading economic power, responsible for 50% of regional GDP.
